CRAB has been an integral collaborator with IASLC since the late 1990s, continuing this partnership through 2024
Under the leadership of the International Association For the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and the Staging and Prognostic Factors Subcommittee (SPFC), CRAB has continued its longstanding commitment to improving the Tumor, Node, Metastasis (TNM) classification for Lung Cancer, Mesothelioma, and Thymic Malignancies. CRAB has collected international datasets for the 7th, 8th, and the current 9th Edition projects through our proprietary CRAB Nebula™ Electronic Data Capture system, which this time included several new customizable data fields for biomarker data.
The 9th Edition lung cancer database contains approximately 125,000 patients from 78 unique sites from 25 countries, and is poised to be the largest yet. CRAB statisticians planned and executed all statistical analyses that will be submitted to the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) for global release and adoption in 2024. This project has produced dozens of publications that relied on CRAB statistical expertise, applications development, information technology, and data management assistance.
